Our Team
Volker Engling – Managing Director
Volker successfully completed High School in Pretoria, South Africa in 1996. After a brief introduction into the Hotel and Restaurant industry he moved on to the ICT Industry in Munich, Germany in 1998. Having spent 1 ½ years working for Microsoft Germany in the Training and Certification Department he was offered a great opportunity to further his technical skills at Compaq Computer Corporation in Munich, Germany. Home is still where the heart is, so Volker decided to return to Windhoek in 2001 and started working for AST Namibia, where he and Antje successfully established a new Sales Department. He then decided to further his experience in the Application Hosting Environment and moved to Logical Networks. In 2004 Comztek South Africa decided to establish a local subsidiary and Volker was asked to head up their Namibian division for 3 ½ years until the end of June 2007.
Volker brings with him a wealth of technical experience and efficient leadership skills. He prides himself on being a dedicated and motivated salesman who understands business needs and applies his management and technical knowledge to offer the client a holistic solution.
Antje Engling – Operations Manager
Antje completed High School in Windhoek in 1993 and went on to complete a Marketing Diploma in Cape Town, South Africa. In 1996 Antje started working as a Sales Consultant at Q-Data Namibia and moved to Southern Cross Systems Integrators in 1997. From 1999-2000 she decided to broaden her horizons and spent some time travelling and working in the UK. Antje worked at two different locations through-out the two years and was fortunate enough to experience a completely different lifestyle and to learn about the great history of Europe.
She returned to Namibia in 2001 and started selling Computer Hardware and Software at AST Namibia. During this time Antje and Volker successfully established the new Sales Division for AST Namibia. Antje managed to break into the corporate environment and was able to build strong relationships with her clients. She prides herself on being client-focused and can safely claim to be seen as a trustworthy partner in all business interactions. From 2003 - May 2008 she joined UUNET Namibia/Verizon Business Namibia as a Corporate Account Manager. During this time Antje managed some of the most influential Corporate Clients in Namibia and was also responsible for generating new business opportunities within the corporate market. Antje used this opportunity to establish and build strong relationships with some of the key players (IT Managers, Finance Managers and CEO’s) within these markets. Her hard work and dedication to exceptional client service also resulted in Antje winning several awards and incentives. In June 2008 Antje decided to join Candor Technology Namibia – a company that specialises in Voice Management and Telecommunication services. It has been a challenging journey, but Antje believes that an understanding of all aspects of the telecommunication environment has enabled her to design and propose business solutions that cover all billing and telephony within any organisation.
Antje furthermore prides herself on working efficiently in everything she does and has been complimented for her neatness of administration tasks and documentation.
Bernd Engling – Technical Supervisor
Bernd successfully completed High School in Windhoek Namibia in 2002. He then travelled to Germany where he completed a Hotel Management course in Baden-Baden. Bernd returned in 2005 to start working for Comztek as a Warehouse Manager and was subsequently promoted to Sales and Customer Relations Manager.
He briefly moved back into the hospitality industry and managed "Luigi and the Fish" for 1 year up until 2008. He then joined Candor Information Technology as a Communications Engineer.
Bernd is passionate about solving any technical challenges.
Bodo Cruys – Project Manager
Bodo Cruys was born and raised in Namibia and successfully finished his matriculation at the Delta Secondary School in Windhoek in 2002. Bodo then moved to Cape Town where he completed a National Diploma in Information Technology at the Cape Technikon (also known as Cape Peninsula University of Technology),Cape Town, South Africa. Bodo was employed at Business Connexions in Windhoek and spent his first year in the Workshop and Cabling Department. Thereafter he spent another three years in the Professional Services Department. He has acquired a wealth of knowledge in the technical industry and is proficient in the following areas:
• MS SharePoint Installations and Customization Excel Spreadsheets with coding in Background System Administration Development in VB6 MS SQL Server • Queries, maintenance and setup • Administration Timekeeper • Sagem Finger Print Readers • Sagem Access Control Maintenance • Cat 6 cabling training • Pastel Evolution • CRM 4.0
Bodo has proven himself to be a self-motivated and ambitious individual and we look forward to having him on our team. He joins Candor Information Technologies Namibia as Project Manager / Technical Manager in our new division – XON Products and Solutions.
